Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Itsasoftware (“we”, “us”, or “our”) handles information in connection with the mobile application Video Audio Converter & Editor (the “App”) for iOS and Android. The App is provided as a free service with optional advertisements and an optional one-time in-app purchase for Premium features.
By downloading or using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. Summary
- Video and audio conversion happens on your device. We do not operate a remote conversion server that receives your media files for processing.
- We do not collect precise or approximate location for the App’s features, and the App does not use location permissions.
- The App may use ads, analytics, crash reporting, and purchase verification through third-party providers listed below.
- On iOS, personalized advertising / advertising identifiers are used only if you allow tracking in Apple’s App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt.
- You can review or withdraw ads-related consent (where available) from inside the App: Privacy → Privacy Options.
2. Your media files stay on your device
When you select a video or audio file, convert formats, extract audio, compress, trim, or apply edits, processing is performed locally on your iPhone, iPad, or Android device using on-device tools (including FFmpeg running within the App).
We do not upload your selected media files to Itsasoftware servers for conversion. Converted outputs are saved to your device (for example, the Photos library for videos on iOS, or via the system share / save dialogs). You choose where to export or share results.
Note: If you use the system Share Sheet or save to Photos / Files / another app, those destinations are controlled by Apple, Google, or the third-party app you select, under their own terms and policies.
3. Device permissions we may request
Depending on your platform and what you do in the App, the App may request:
| Permission | Why it is requested |
|---|---|
| Photo Library / Media access | To let you pick videos to convert or edit, and (on iOS) to save converted videos to Photos when you choose to export. |
| Files / document picker access | To let you browse and select video or audio files from Files / storage. |
| Notifications (optional) | To show conversion progress / completion notifications while a conversion runs. |
| App Tracking Transparency (iOS) | Only if we request permission to use an advertising identifier for more relevant ads. You can decline and still use the App’s conversion features. |
| Internet access | Required for ads, analytics/crash reporting, consent forms, in-app purchases, opening the privacy policy / support links, and similar network features. Conversion itself does not require uploading your media. |
The App is not designed to use the camera or microphone for recording. The App does not request location permission and does not provide location-based features.
4. Information stored locally on your device
The App stores certain data in local app storage (for example SharedPreferences / UserDefaults) so features work between launches. This data typically stays on your device unless you clear app data, uninstall the App, or it is needed for a third-party SDK listed below.
Examples of locally stored information include:
- Number of free conversions used
- Cached Premium / purchase status (for offline fallback)
- Conversion history metadata (such as recent output references) to help you re-share or re-export
- Temporary / in-progress conversion state (for restoring UI after interruptions)
- App rating prompt timing
- Consent / ads-related preferences managed by the Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) SDK where applicable
5. Information collected through the App
5.1 Information we do not collect for conversion
We do not require you to create an account, and we do not ask you to provide your name, email address, or phone number to convert files. Contact email is only used if you choose to email us from the App’s “Contact Us” action.
5.2 Automatically processed information via third parties
When the App connects to the internet for ads, analytics, crash reporting, consent, or purchases, third-party providers may process technical information such as:
- Device and app identifiers (which may include advertising identifiers if tracking is allowed)
- Device type, operating system version, app version, language, and similar diagnostics
- IP address (typically processed by network / ad / analytics providers as part of delivering their services)
- Crash logs and performance diagnostics
- Approximate region derived by providers from IP for ads / consent / analytics (this is not GPS location collected by the App)
- Purchase / entitlement status for Premium restoration
- Ad interaction events (for example impressions, clicks, rewarded-ad completion)
The exact data processed depends on your device settings, consent choices, platform (iOS/Android), and the third-party service. Please review their policies linked in Section 6.
6. Third-party services
The App uses the following third-party services. They process data under their own privacy policies:
- Google AdMob (advertising) — Google Privacy Policy / AdMob & privacy
- Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) (consent / privacy messaging for ads where required) — covered by Google’s privacy documentation for ads & consent
- Firebase Analytics (usage analytics; collection is disabled when tracking is not authorized on iOS as implemented in the App) — Firebase Privacy
- Firebase Crashlytics (crash / stability reporting in release builds) — Firebase Privacy
- RevenueCat (in-app purchase / entitlement management) — RevenueCat Privacy Policy
- Apple App Store / Google Play (purchase processing, restore purchases, store accounts) — governed by Apple’s and Google’s respective policies
We do not sell your personal information. We also do not share your media files with these providers for conversion. Third parties receive only what is necessary for their listed purpose (ads, analytics, crash reporting, consent, or purchases).
7. Advertising, analytics, and tracking
7.1 Ads
The free version of the App may show banner ads and rewarded ads (for example, to unlock an extra conversion). Premium removes ads. App-open ads may be disabled in some builds.
7.2 iOS App Tracking Transparency
On iOS, before using the device advertising identifier for personalized advertising / tracking purposes, the App requests permission through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency framework. If you deny permission, the App is configured to request non-personalized ads and to keep analytics collection disabled as implemented in the current App build.
7.3 Consent (EEA/UK and similar regions)
Where required by law, the App uses Google’s User Messaging Platform to request consent for ads-related data processing. You can reopen privacy options later from the App menu: Privacy → Privacy Options (when available for your region / consent status).
7.4 What “tracking” means here
“Tracking” refers to the use of data (such as an advertising identifier) about your device to deliver personalized advertising or measure ads across apps/websites owned by other companies, as defined by Apple’s and Google’s platform rules. Declining tracking does not remove the App’s core convert / edit / export features.
8. In-app purchases
Premium is offered as a one-time (non-subscription) in-app purchase. There is no auto-renewing subscription for Premium in the App’s current offering.
Purchases are processed by Apple or Google. We use RevenueCat to verify entitlements and support Restore Purchases. Payment card details are handled by the store, not by Itsasoftware.
9. Children’s privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, contact us at info@itsasoftware.org and we will take appropriate steps.
10. Data retention and deletion
- Local app data: remains on your device until you clear app storage or uninstall the App.
- Converted files: remain wherever you saved or shared them (Photos, Files, another app). Uninstalling the App does not automatically delete files you already exported outside the App.
- Third-party logs / analytics / ads / purchase records: retained according to each provider’s policies and legal requirements.
To stop most App-related local collection, uninstall the App. To request deletion of information that may be associated with you in our systems or to ask questions about third-party retention, email info@itsasoftware.org. We will respond within a reasonable time.
11. Your choices and rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing, or to withdraw consent.
Practical controls in / around the App:
- Deny or change tracking permission in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking
- Use Privacy → Privacy Options in the App (where the consent form is available)
- Limit ad personalization in your device / Google account ad settings
- Upgrade to Premium to remove ads
- Uninstall the App to remove local App data
- Contact us at info@itsasoftware.org for privacy requests
If you are in the EEA/UK and believe we have not adequately addressed a concern, you may also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
12. Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to a consumer mobile app, including using HTTPS for network communications with third-party services and keeping media conversion on-device. No method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. Please keep your device locked and updated.
13. International processing
Third-party providers (such as Google and RevenueCat) may process information on servers located outside your country of residence. Where required, those providers rely on appropriate transfer mechanisms described in their privacy documentation.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Effective date” at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised Policy, except where additional consent is required by law.
